Catharine Ann Decker was born January 16, 1817. Her parents were Jane Luke and Aaron M. Decker.

She married Jacob Ambrosier in 1838 when she was twenty or twenty-one and he about a month younger. She died at the age of thirty-one years, eight months, and six days on September 22, 1848, in Ohio, about four months after the birth of her last child. According to W.A. Schwartz, she and her husband are buried in Luke's Graveyard, north of North Robinson, Ohio.

She had at least four children:

•  Julia Ambrosier (May 2, 1840);
•  Dan Ambrosier (August 12, 1842);
•  Eliza Jane Ambrosier (January 31, 1844);
•  George Ambrosier (May 21, 1848).
