George Ambrosier was born May 21, 1848, perhaps in Ohio, and died July 1, 1931, in Hardtner, Kansas, due to injuries suffered while breaking a team of colts.

He married Sara Louisa Grogg on April 30, 1868. They had eleven children: Abraham Grant, November 3, 1868; Dora E., October 7, 1870; Almeda Amanda, November 3, 1873; William W., July 14, 1875; Jake L., November 5, 1877; Birty L., June 8, 1880; Bertha L., June 8, 1880; James Clayton, March 12, 1883; Fred B., October 23, 1885; Minnie Mabel, December 22, 1887, and G. Hubert, November 28, 1890.

From his great-grandson William A. Schwartz:

He moved a lot. Farmed some, but spent a good share of his life working on ranches in Montana. He also broke horses. He died as a result of being dragged by a team of colts he was breaking.

At least once they traveled by team and buggy from Montana to Mountain Home, Idaho.

In old records and on gravestones, Ambrosier was also spelled Ambroser, Ambrosher, and some of the family in Pennsylvania spell it Ambrose.
