My returns for the third Qr 1857 were forwarded to J.W. Nesmith Supt Ind Affrs on the fifteenth of November last, and my returns for the fourth Qr 1857 were in this Office on the fourth of January 1858 but I see they have not been forwarded to you on account of some supposed or real informality, to which I must say that they were made to the best of my ability, from the data then in my office, I hope you will show me a little indulgence should there be a slight informality in my accounts and for the future there shall be a separate abstract for [illegible] of appropriation; We are greatly [...]
